The 2009 Lotus Exige Cup 260 is the most extreme version of the Exige yet. Featuring bespoke track derived developments, which include the extensive use of Carbon Fibre and lightweight components to further enhance the stunning performance and driving dynamics. The 2009 Exige Cup 260 is the ultimate combination of lightweight, style and function.

The MY2009 Exige Cup 260 weighs in at just 890 kg, giving an impressive power to weight ratio of 288 hp / tonne (291 PS / tonne). But, of course, power to weight alone does not make a highly competitive race or track car, so in addition, the Exige Cup 260 has a formidable list of standard performance focused equipment. Designed as a road legal car with extreme track performance and safety features. The Carbon Fibre lightweight race seats*, electrical ignition kill switch and fire extinguisher are all FIA compliant.

Engine

260PS 2ZZ-GE engine, Featuring Metal Matrix Composite (MMC) & aluminium lightweight and compact construction. Chain driven Double Over-Head Camshafts (DOHC) exploiting a Variable Valve Timing & Lift - intelligent (VVTL-i) system, Lotus T4e engine management system, multi-point sequential fuel injection, electronic ignition and electronic throttle control, Lotus Sport developed supercharger installation including intake manifold, plenum and induction system and air to air intercooler, lightweight flywheel.

Transmission

C64 manual transaxle, aluminium lightweight construction, 6-speed, close ratio, constant mesh helical gears. Prated Clutch and cover. Torque-sensing limited slip differential (LSD).

Chassis

Lotus designed lightweight structure of epoxy bonded aluminium alloy extrusions with glass-fibre composite front section, extruded aluminium door bearms, integral steel seat-belt support structure and lightweight rear subframe.

Steering

Solidly mounted mechanical rack and pinion steering box. 2.8 turns lock-to-lock.

Suspension

Fully independent suspension utilising unequeal length wishbones. Bilstein adjestable dampers. Lotus Sport adjustable front anti-roll bar. Double shear rrack control arm brace.

Wheels

Ultra light 12-spoke forged wheels in gloss anthracite.
